DUNSTAN DISTRICT JOCKEY CLUB.
A meeting of members of the Dnnstan J ockoy Club was held at George’s Duustan Hotel, Clyde, on Friday evening lust to fix on the day for the Annual Meeting, and the transacting general business; seventeen gentlemen wore present, James Hazlett, Esq., in the Chair. .
The minutes of former meetings were road, and on the motion of Dr. C. Shaw, seconded by Mr. R. Stewart were confirmed. The Secretary stated that twenty one members had paid their subscriptions. The Chairman stated, the primary object of the meeting, was to fix upon the days for holding the Annual Race Meeting ; in deciding, it was necessary to take two things into consideration ; the one was the convenience of those parties; who were likely to enter horses, the other was the time other meetings would be held, so that our meeting should not clash with them. Dr. Shaw said, as the Canterbury Races were to be'held in the beginning of February, and the Dunedin Races in the latter end of March, he considered that if the Dnnstan Ra ccs took place between the two all parties would bo well suited, and accordingly proposed That the Annual Meeting of the Dnnstan Jockey Club lie head on the 24th and 25th February, IS7O, seconded by Mr. D. Stronach.
Mr.. Grimlley propose! as'an Amendment : —That the Meeting bo held during the last week of December, ISO 9. The motion was carried.
A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the business of the meeting.
