ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
We do not identify ourselves with the opinions that may be expressed by our correspondents. ROBERTSON v. CAMPBELL k LOW, (TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUXST.VX TIMES.) Sir, —Tn your issile of the 20th iust. 1 notice a letter signed “ Peacemaker.” There are two things I would like to take notice of in connexion with that letter. 1. Peacemaker says that the case was not supposed to interest any but the parties Concerned. Now I would like to state, for the benelit of Peacemaker and others, that anything concerning cattle and the grazing of them is of interest to tho public at present. Although the case reported by him may not materially affect the subject which s now agitating tho public mind, still it shows how any man who has a few head of cattle is at the mercy of the squatter, to be charged whatever he thinks proper, or remove them to some other district beyond the boun Is of civilization, which cannot be done without a great sacrifice, , The second tiling I would like to mention is this : When Peacemaker takes in hand to report a case, he ought to mention everything. There is no mention made by him of the item disputed by Mr. Low as an overcharge, namely the potatoes, although there was evidence produced in Court which proved that potatoes were sold at the same time at the price charged. 1 am, &c., FAIR-PLAY. Manuherikia, Aug. 28, IS R 9.
