GOLDFIELDS REVENUE.

“In the House of Representatives, on the Ist iast., Mr. O’Keiil moved mr a return of all the revenues of the Cromwei district for the year ending on ihe 31st of May last. In moving ior this return llie honorable member said that the Cromwell district had now become one of the most prosperous in the Province o! Otago. T e town f Cromwell was situate at the junction of two very large rivers, the Ciufha and the Kawarau, and was the centre of an extensive mining district. Tin re was a large amount of business ; one in the Warden’s Court ami Resident Magistrate’s Court, and the District Court was laid at Clyde, about 13 miles from Cromwell, ami the people of the district considered that, from the large amount of business done, the chief courthouse should bo at Cromwell ilis desire was to obtain as much information as he could on tu- subject.
