CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Council was held on Wednesday evening last. Present his Worship the Mayor and Councillors Cambridge, Patterson, Hastie, Clark. Atkins, and Ziele.

The minutes of the previou* meeting were read and confirmed.

The Town Clerk read correspondence, as follows :=rrcm the Provincial Secretary, notifying that £226 Bs. had been forwarded to the Keceivir of Revenue. From Mr. J. Over, asking for £IOO, on account of con-

tract. From Councillor Ziele, resigning office. To Mr. A. Christophers, Secretary to the Dnnstan Lodge of Freemasons; informing thorn, that their offer of £ls per annum for the use of the Town-hall was Was accepted, To the Secretary of the Foresters’ Lodge, intimating that their offer of £lO per annum for the use oi the hall was accepted

It was resolved : “ That the .esiguation of Councillor Ziele be accepted. “That Mr. Ziele bo requested, while in Dunedin, to procure designs for lamps for lighting the hall. “That Mr. Over’s request be complied with.

“ That Sergeant a Thompson bo appointed inspector of Weights and fiensures without salary^. “ That tho Town Clerk sue all persons refusing to pay water rates ” Mr. Peters’s amended account was passed
