CORPORATION of CROMWELL
The usual fortnightly meeting was held on Monday the 7lh instant. There was present, the Mayor, and Councillors Kelly, Smitham, Burres and Booth.
The minutes of the p.evious meeting were read and confirmed.
The tenders sent into the Council for tha repair of a portion of Sligo Street were opened and read.
It was resolved upon the motion of Councillor Burros, seconded ffy Council! r K 1;, that none of the tenders be accepted. Moved by Councillor Kelly, seconded by Councillor Burres, and carried, that the Public Works Committee, see that the necessary repairs to oligo Street be done by day work. Resolved upon the motion of Councillor Kelly, seconded by Councillor Burres, that the Town Clerk write to the Provincial Sec retary, requesting that the Government erect a suitable Court-house at Cromwel', without further delay, as applied for by the Council, and Mr. Warden Pyke, and promised by the Government. On the motion of Councillor Burres, se- * conded by Councillor Kelly and carried, that Mr. Badger was to be informed, that he attend the next sitting of the District Court, to conduct the further hearing of the Appeal Case, Connellan and party v, the Corporation, if his presence be ue-
cessaay. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the meeting.
