CORPORATION of CROMWELL

A meeting of the Cromwell Town Council was held in the Council Chamber on Monday evening the 26tb hist., there were present, the Mayor, W. H, Whetter Esq, J.P. and Councillors Burres and Booth,

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The Town Clerk read a copy of the application made by E. Owens and Co. to the AVaste Lands Board for a Lease of Lignite Pit within the Township. It was ordered to stand over for a full meeting of the Council.

A notice of appeal to the District Court against the decision of Mr. AA r arden Pyke in the matter of the Corporation of Cromwell versus Connellan and others was read by the Town Clerk.

It was resolved on the motion of Councillor Booth, that Mr. C. Goodwin’s application to rent a.portion of the Municipal reserve, (twenty feet frontage) adjoining Mr. Goodger’s Hotel be acceded to, and that the rent for the same be £7 per annum. Accounts amounting to £37 Cs Gd were passed for payment.

A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the meeting.
