DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL
An adjourned meeting of the Committee of the Dunstan District Hospital was held in the Council Chambers, on Monday, the 12th inst., at 8 p.m. Present: Vincent Pyke, Esq., (President), J. Hazlott, M. Marshall, J. Patterson, J. Hastie, C. P Peek, C, Hueston, C. Ziele, A. Christophers (Treasurer), and R. Barlow, (Secretary.) The President explained that the meeting was for the purpose of receiving the report of the Sub-Committee appointed to inquire into the consumption of certain articles, viz.—Wines, spirits, beer, meat, milk, and other items, and with reference to the suspension of the matron. The Secretory read the report. Proposed by Mr. Marshall, seconded by Mr. Patterson,Thatthe report bo rcceived_ Carried.
The report having been again read, clause by clause, and agreed to, it was proposed by Mr. Hueston, seconded by Mr. Marshall, That the report be adopted. Canned. Proposed by Mr. Hueston, seconded by Mr. Patterson, That Mr. E. M‘Quillan and wife he engaged as Wardsman and Matron, for the Dunstan District Hospital, for the space of ono month, their joint salary to be at the rate of £l2O pier annum, with rations. Carried.
Proposed by Mr. Patterson, seconded by Mr. Hueston, That an advertisement be inserted in the “ Dunstan Times” and the Otago Daily Times” calling for application from a married couple, for the office of wardsman and matron of the Dunstan District Hospital. Carried. The Secretary was instructed to take an inventory of all goods in the Hospital, and restore to the institution those articles left with him by the matron, and to carry out the recommendations, as contained in the adopted report of the suh-Crtmmittee.
