CROMWELL TOWN COUNCIL.

A meeting of the Council was held in Council Chamber on Tuesday, the 13th instant.

Present, the Mayor and Councillors Kelly Burres and Booth.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The Report of Mr. Beesly upon the progress of the Works on the Nevis Road was read and received. Report from Mr, Frank Neill, conttactor, was read and received. A letter from Mrs. Rodger was read and received. A letter from Mr. Goodwin, wishing to rent land adjoining Mr. Goodger’s hotel, was roa ', and stands over for further consideration. The letter from the chief Commissioner of Land and Works was brougt up for reconsideration. Moved by Councillor Booth, seconded by Councillor Burres, —That the Town Clerk Write to Messrs Owens and Cp. for copy of

letter they sent to the Commissioner of Waste Lands Board. The Town Clerk was instructed to in. form those, who, the Sanitary Committee thought created a nuisance in the Town in carrying on their business that unless it ceased, proceedings would bo instituted against them. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the proceedings.
