ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.

We do not identify ourselves with the opinions that may ho expressed by our correspondents. POTATOE CROP. (to the editor or the duxstax times.) Sir, —Hitbertn it has been a matter of much doubt, whether a good crop of potatoes could he grown on the Nevis, as it has been considered by most parsons acquainted with the district, that the severity of the climate, and tho length of tho time during which .frost prevails, would not allow the potatoe to come to maturity; hut this opinion, we are happy to say, has been proven fallacious, as Mr. Charles Korll, of the lower crossing, has succeeded, through care and attention, in raising a crop, which in size and quality cannot ‘-e excelled, some of them weighing upwards of a pound and a half. Croat credit is due to Mr. Korll for having shown the residents what tho soil of the Nevis is capable of, and his success may be the means of inducing others to follow his example. l am, &0., W.
