CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL.
A meeting of the Town Council was hold in the Council Chamber on Wednesday the 17th instant. Present, J. Hazlett, Esq., Mayor, and Councillors Cambridge, Patterson, Hastie and Atkins. The minutes of previous meetings were read and confirmed. The inward and outward correspondence was read received and approved. Mr. Cox applied for leave to construct a cellar under his hotel. The tender of Mr. Joseph Over for building Town Hall as pur plans and specifications was accepted, £729 10s, and for extras £-14 10s, making total of £774Tho Town Clerk read the agreement between the Corporation and Mr. J. Holt, anent the supply of water. After discussion it was resolved to pay the amount agreed upon. Tire Town Clerk was instructed to write to his Honor the Superintendent, requesting that subsidy now due be at once forwarded. Resolved, That the Rublic Works Committee bo empowered to employ labor to clean the streets, and have the water of the Town race turned down the channels when necessary. Resolved, That the Mayor be empowered 1 o have obstruction in Coquet Street removed, and to apply for prison labor to remove the same. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the meeting.
