CROMWELL RACES.
Second Day. The weather to day was far more pleasant than yesterday, there net being SO much dust, and the attendance was much about the same ; the various events were keenly contested, with the following results. Minors and Packers Purse. Roderick (Foote) 0 1 I Freetrader (Duhig) 12 2 Sis started. The different heats were very well contested, and the landing of Roderick a winner in the last two heats was the result of the good jockeys':.ip of Foote. Cromwell Handicap. Wizard (Gray) I Cromwell (Barry) 2 Wizard took the load, and maintained it to the finish. Ladies’ Purse Madam (Luseomho) ... ... j Mailboy (Smitham) ... ... o Handicap Trotting Race. Stumpy (Stewart) ... ... 1 Bobby. ... ... 2 This was a splendid race from the stand Stumpy winning only by ahead. Consolation Stakes. Cromwell ... ... . . j Poison ... .. . o Three Started. Cromwell had it all his own way from the start, and won” in a catter. The days sports wound up with a hospita race, which was won by Freetrader.
