DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Institution was held in the Council Cham-w hers on Tuesday evening the 2nd 7 p.in. Present, V. Pyke, Esq, and Messrs Grindley, Hucston, Ziclo. Patterson, Clark, A. Christophers, Hon. Treasurer, and Pi. Barlow, Sccratary. The minutes of meetings of Committee hold on the sth, 12th, 26th, and 27th Jan. ult. were road, also minutes of annual meeting of contributors held on the Isth January ult. wore rea l and confirmed. Tho inwar i and outward correspondence we e appproved and received. Mr. Christophers as a member cf tho Visiting Committee, reported that the services of Mrs Phillips had been retained to attend to two female patients with children, who were inmates of the Hospital. A discussion ensued relative to Paile Cl, which prohibits tho admission of children under five years of age, ultimately it was resolved, “ That tho Secretary write to Mr Fellows informing him that, as ho is now in a situation, he will bo expected to contribute towards tho support of his wife and child while in the Hospital, also, That the Visiting Committee make arrangements as to tho female patients and children at present in the Hospital, and that in future, the Rule 61 be strictly adhered to. The Visiting Committee’s report, recommending payment cf accounts amounting to LICB 9s 1 Id was read and received, Tho Treasurer’s report, showing a ba’ancc in hand of 1,178 10b 8d and Government subsidy due 1,1,872 5s 6d was read and received. The House Surgeon’s report, showing

the number of patients in the Hospital at lait meeting to be sixteen ; admitted since, seven ; discharged, eight ; died, three; remaining in the hospital, twelve ; average for the month, fourteen and three-quarters, was read and received. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Government for an instalment of the subsidy due. » ■ The Treasurer was requested to renew the policy of insurance on tho llospntal and furniture. Messrs. Bock, Clark and Marshall were electe 1 Visiting Committee. The following matters were refered to the Visiting Committee. The ventilation and papering of kitchen, and the erection of a store-room.
