Barlow (Secretary), were present. The Secretary stated the object of the meeting was twofold, firstly to take into consideration the supply of water to the Hospital; secondly, to consider a complaint laid by Mr. G. Kenny against the House Surgeon. With respect to the supply of water, he said repeated complaints had been made by the officers of the Hospital as to the irregular supply : he further stated, that he had traversed the race by which the Hospital is supplied with water, ana found it in very bad order, so bad in faet, that he considered it desirab e to cut a new race. The President and others spoke on the matter, all agreeing that to ensure a regular supply, it would bo necessary to cany out the suggestion of cutting a new race. The President further stated that Mr. T. George, tho Surveyor, had promised to survey the level, and give every information, therefore the cost would he but trifling. On the motion of Mr. Hueston, it was resolved that an- w race be cut, and that Mr. T. George bo applied to for tho levels. Messrs Grindley, Hueston, and Hazlett were appointed a Committee to carry out the foregoing resolution. Tho Secretary, in answer to a question from Mr. Facho, state i that Mr. Kenny had not lodg d with him any complaint in writing, it was merely a verbal ju-j. Tho President said, such being Ilia case, the complaint could trot be heard, as it woul l be very unfair to the party complained against to enter into the matter without giving him an opportunity of rebutting any evidence that might be brought against him, and further, he would wish it to be understood that such complaints could on ybe entertained when made in writing, or personally, by attendance on the Committee. A discussion as to whether other business than the water supply could be entertained lhateveuingensued, but it beingproved that tho notice paper and summonses contained the words, “ and other bus ness ” it was determined to discuss the general management of the Institution. Several members spoke on tho subject, a great deal ox information being elicited ; eventually it was r. solved that tho Resident Surgeon lie requested to take tho leave of absence applied for by himself some time since, tho Committee agreeing to provide a temporary substitute. There being no further business before flic meeting, a vote of thanks to the Chair terminated tho proceedings.
