Marchioness, an own sister to Tow ton and dam of Fishook, won the Oaks in 1855, and the Marquis, u son of inizelli, by Stockwell, won the Two Thousand Guineas in 1862 ; ran second for the Derby, for which he was first favorite ; and won the St. Ledger.

Don was got by Gil Bias, out of Penelope, by the imported Desert Arab Ajah Baba ; g. d, by the celebrated race-horse Grenadier.

Ugly Buck is a beautiful bay horse, stands fifteen hands three inches in height. wMi immense power and lave; got by the imported horse Frank, dam Creeping Molly, by Colonel (imported). UGLY BUCK (vide Ruff's Guide) has performed well in Victoria, having won Fourteen Races, viz. : As a two-year old he won the Hopeful Stakes at Hamilton, £IOO. As a three-year-old, the Hamilton T.eger, f 128 ; at Portland, the Open Handicap, £IOO ; the Portland Leger, £6O ; the Braxholm Lever, £4O ; and at Apsley, the Ladies’ Purse, £54. As a four-year-old he did not run. As a five-year-old he won the All Aged Stakes at Hamilton, £SO. As a six-year- old, the Town Plate at Winchester, £4O ! the Avoca Town Plato, '3O, anil a handicap of '2O; Consolation Stakes at Ballan, Consolation Stakes at Bacchus Marsh, Town Plate at Kilmcre, and La lies’ Purse at Lancefield.
