M'lntosh) ; dam, Kate, by Grey Champion ; grand dam by Duncan Gray. Prince Charley, having proved himself the premier sire of Victoria, needs no comment. Kate was a first-class mare, bred in Tasmania, She took a second prize in Melbourne as a brood, mare, and five first prizes in Kilmore. Grey Champion and Duncan Gray were the sires of the best stock ever bred in Tasmania. Highlander is now six years old, He was shown at Kilmore, and got the second prize—a two-year-old ; and as a three-year-old got the third prize at. the National Show, Melbourne. lie took several other prizes through the district when travelling. He is a sure foal-getter, and his stock is equal to any bred from any other horso in the colony of Victoria,
