CROMWELL, (Before Vincent Pyke, Esq,, R.M., Shade v. Scott, a shepherd in employ ofMessrs Loughnan, Brothers, Mount Pisa, for willfully and maliciously killing a dog. The evidence in defence proved, that the defendant had caught the dog worrying a flock of sheep for which he killed it. In justification the Ordinance was cited, wherein it is laid down that any dog, registered or not, found molesting sheep can he killed. Case dismissed. CLYDE, September 4 James Hope was brought up on remand from the 2nd inst.. charged with lunacy; committed to the Dunedin Lunatic Asylum. Seytember 8. Charles Green, who was arrested at Cromwell was charged with lunacy. Remanded for medical treatment to the Dunstan District Hospital.
Andrew Anderson alsoarrestel at Cromwell, was charged with larceny to the value of Cs. Case dismissed for want of evidence audnon-anpearance of prosecutor. Coxv, Dods.— Claim £2O.
