CROMWELL. Muir vPerriam. Complaint for an illegal detention of a mare.—Mr. Bailey for Defendant. In the evidence for the Complainant, it cnee out that the value of the mare was £2S. Mr. Bailey refused on behalf of the defendant to consent to the case being decide 1 by the Court, as provided under section '2O of the Resident Magistrates Act, 18C7. The case was dismissed with costs. CLYDE. August 19. Emily Stone was charged with Laving no lawful visible moans of support.—Committed to Dunedin Gaol for one" month. August, RO. Robert and Emily Stone, twolittle children of Emily Stone, committed of vagrancy, were brought up as being neglected children within thcineaningof the Or inance —Committed to the Industiial School, Dunemi for seven years. ALEXANDRA. August 17. W. Chamber'ain, charged with drunkenness, was fined 205., or twenty-four hour. 1 :) imprisonment. Peter Mulvey was charged under the Dog Nuisance Ordinance with keeping an unregistered dog. Fined 40s. and costs. Tins defendant was very noisy and insolent in Court after the conviction, and was ordered into custody for contempt. At the rising of the Court he was brought up, and then mode an apology, which was accepted. There were two or three civil cases of little importance.
