CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL.
The usual fortnighly meeting of the Council was held in the Council Cliamliers, on Tuesday, tlie 18th hist. Present: The Mayor and fn 1 Council. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. A letter from-Mr. F. Bay kin. respecting some kerbing stones, was referred to the Public Works Committee. Two applications for the office of Town Clerk were read —one from Mr. M. Marsha 1, the other from Mr. C. F. Johnson. A ballot was taken, and resulted in the election of Mr. Marshall. Sergeant Thomson was re-appointed Inspector of Nuisances. Messrs. Cope and Hncston were appointe 1 Va'oators. The report of the Finance Committee, reeommen dug payment of accounts amounting to f.'!o ISs. 2d., was received, and the accounts ordered to be paid. The, acting Town Cork stated there w-'s —Cash in lian 1 C-idd 1-1 1 5 I : subsidy due, £282 10s. Priposod by Grnncillor Zicle, seconded by Councillor Cambridge, and carried,— That the Public Works Committee he instructed to obtain the buckets, hooks &e., for the Fire Brigade The usual vote to the Chair terminated the meeting.
