CROMWELL TOWN COUNCIL.

A meeting of the Council was held on the 20th instant. Present, the Mayor, and Councillors Whetter, Smitham, Edwards and Kidd. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from his Honor, the Superintendent, acknowledging receipt of one from the Council, of date 2-lth June last, stating that the Government is negotiating with Mr. Loughnan, and hopes to come to terms with him shortly respecting the Commonage. The Town Clerk was instructed to acknowledge the receipt of the Letter. A vote of thanks to the Chair conclnded i the proceedings.
