CORPORATION OF CLYDE.
(TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUNSTAN TIMES. A short time since, hearing that there ■was to be a public meeting convened by Mr M'Pherson, the Mayor, anent, the deficiencies of the late Town Clerk; to enable the Council to express an opinion, whom they liable for the deffciency. I not trouble you, with representing the extraordinary remarks made by Mr. M' Pherson upon that occasion, they were too rediculous for any mention here. Those members of Council present, expressed readily their willingness to make good their fair proportions of the deficiency, and which I believe, they have since made good. Several liberal-minded rate-payerspresent expressed a willingness to contribute £lO each, towards defaulting members of th* Council, provided they would resign their seats. I now ask those rate-payers to redeem their promises, and to call upon the Councillors who will not pay up, to at once resign , they no longer being worthy of public confidence or support. I am &c. FAIRPLAY. Clyde, lath July, IS6S.
