DUNSTAN DISTRICT JOT JOCKEY CLUB.
A meeting of the members of the Committee was held at the Port Phillip Hotel, on Thursday evening, the 2nd inst. There were present Messrs. Fraser (President;, Hazlett ((Vice-President), Glassford, Longhnan, Turnbull, Shaw, M'Morran, Stronach, Bennett, Stewart, Christophers, and Marshall (Secretary pro tem.) The minutes of the last Committee meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary read the letter adi'ressel 'W " to the Victorian Pacing Club, respecting the steeplechase at the last race meeting, asking whether either or both horses was or were disqualified on account of the jockey pulling down the fence with his hands. The reply was handed in and read. The reply was handed in and read. It was to the effect that both horses were disqualified, and that, for such conduct, the jockey would be severely punished by them :aSS> that a horse ridden alongside one oWKa contending horses up to a fence, but not over it, was not considered a lead-over. Proposed by Mr. Christophers, seconded by Mr. Hazlett, and carried, That the letter be received, and that the opinion, as expressed in the reply, bo accepted. Air. R, Barlow was elected (by ballot) as Secretary. The Secretary was instructed to reply to the letter from the Victorian Pacing Club ; also to communicate with the various Jockey Clubs in this province, inquiring the days proposed for their next annual meetings. Mr. Smitham tabled the following notice of motion : That at the next meeting of the Committee he will propose that entries be received during the current year for a Two-year-old Pace, to bo run in the year 1876, and also for a Derby, to be run in the year 1871, / A vote of thanks to the chairman tcr- < minated the proceedings.
