CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL.

An adjourned meeting of the Council j was hel 1 in the Council Chambers on Tuesday evening the 30th inst. at 7 p.m. Present, Councillors Hazlett, M'Connochie, Cambridge and Goodwin. Councillor Hazlett occupied the Chair. A letter from J. Vogel Esq. Provincial! Treasurer, was read, stating that balance : of Contract Road, Clyde to Nevis, £ 162 15s I hail been pai l to the credit of the Corposation. Tlie Town Clerk said that he had acknowledged receiot of the same. A letter from Cr. Shaw, tenlering his re- , signation was read. On the motion of Councillor Cambridge, ! the resignation of Councillor Shaw was not accepted. The Town Clerk produced and read the i Balance sheet for the half year ending 30th June. (See advertisement). Councillor Goodwin here handed to the Town Clerk his moiety of the deficiency £l3 10s. Od. The Balance Sheet as road, was, on the motion of Councillor M‘Connoohie, received and approve!. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
