Mr. Julius has been re-elected for Oamaru. In the action, Cameron v The "Daily Times " the Plaintiff recovered £'2so damages, for libel. Provincial Institutions have received a blow by the general proceedings in the Council. The public are of opinion, that the interest of the Province is not represented by a majority in the Council. The Squatter and Bank influence are too strong. Moss Davis and Allan have been committed for trial.
