Dunedin, Thursday, 5 p.m. The Claude Hamilton, with Melbourne dates to the 21st ult., arrived yesterday. O’Farrell was hanged at Sydney on the 21st. It is reported that Julius Vogel has resigned the editorship of the “ Daily Times.” A dinner is to be given to Mr. Reynolds, Speaker of the Provincial Council, at the Criterion Hotel, this evening Moss Davis, furniture dealer, charged with having received stolen property from Allen, late of Alexandra, was remanded for one week. Samuel Symmons, author of “ The Chronicles of Gotham,” has been committed for trial for obtaining money under false pretences.
