CROMWELL TOWN COUNCIL.
A meeting of the Council was held on 30th ult. Present: The Mayor and Councillors Whotttr, Edwards, Sinitham, and Kidd. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the Town Clerk of (Queenstown, enclosing copy of a. resolution passed by that Council, praying the Postmaster-General to allow an extra mail to run from Clyde to Queenstown, and requesting this Council to support it. It was ordered that the Town Clerk do acknowledge the letter, and state that thi* Council fully agree with the resolution. i A letter from the Inspector of I was read, and the Town Clerk was ordered ! to give him the necessary instructions. i A letter was read from Messrs. Spensley and Co., stating upon what terms they - would erect a Council Chamber at Cromwell j Resolved that the terms be accepted. Resolved, on the motion of Cr. Smitham, seconded by Cr. Edwards, That Mr. iJodd's j account for kerbing and gravelling the iootj path in Melmare-street stand over till the next general meeting of the Council. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the proceedings.
