DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

A meeting of the Committee of the Dunstan District Hospital was'held on the everting of the sth inst., in the Council 'Chambers. Fresent: Messrs. M'Connochie, Houston, Hazlett, Orindley, Naylor, Christophers (Honorary Treasurer), and Barlow (Secretary). .. .T»lr. Hazlett occupied the chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The inward correspondence, comprising letters from the Provincial Government and Dr. Ifuime respecting the patient Ramsay ; from insurance offices, respecting th e •insurance of the hospital building ; and others, were read and ordered to be received. Proposed by Mr. Christophers, seconded by Mr. M 'Connochie, and carried, That the offer of the Provincial Government to for. ward the patient Ramsay to Melbourne be accepted, anl that the Visiting Committee do, at an early date, forward the man to 'Dunedin. ..Proposed by Mr. Hues ton, seconded by Mr. M 'Connochie, That the letters from .insurance offices' be'referred to the Visiting 'Ormmittee, and that they be requested to rjpirt Upon the same at the next meeting. Carried. The Treasurer's report, showing a balance of i! 404 Os. Id., and amount of subsidy due t> date £1,071 ss. lid., was read .and received. The Finance Committee recommended, : t*i.it the sum of £lsl Os. '.ld., for salaries *&;., In passeii for payment. A discussion ensued respecting the posi*<tion and powers of life Governors, 'and it was ultimately-arranged that the subject be •fully discussed at the next meeting. The Secretary s'ated that tenders for supplies foTthe ensuing tines months had not been advertised for, and asked'that the meeting bo adjourned until Thursday, the 'l2th inst., for the 'purpose of accepting 'tenders, and for other business.
