STREET IMPROVEMENTS.

You may stare, and I dare say you will, for I suppose, you fancy it an improvement, to have ma Is tho3e gutters on each side of Sunderland Street, and so it would have been, had the work been properly performed, but as it is, it is simply a disgrace, nothing less ? whoever superintended the work, ought certainly to be tried for manslaughter, if a vehicle upsets in drawing up before any house from the begining of the street to the Dunstan Hotel, and some one is "kilt entirely", and how 'the coaches manage it, when they are topheavy, is a marvel to me. Last evening I took it i.ito my head to measure the level, and I found that in more than one place the "din" is from seventeen to eighteen inches i.i two feet, and this, within a foot of the centre of the gutter. Would it not be advisable to remember that " prevention is better than euro ", an 1 that to expend a few extra pounds before a serious accident happens, would bo money well laid out.
