CLYDE SCHOOL.

A Committee meeting took place on Friday the Bth inst. at the Schoolhouse. Present, Messrs M'Pherson, Hastie, Hazlett and A Christophers, Clerk. J Hazlett occupied the Chair. The minutes of previous meetings were read and confirmedLetters were read and received from the Educational Board, Mr. Cronquist and Mr. D. M'Connochie. Proposed by Mr. Christophers, seconded by Mr. M'Pherson.—That the resignation of Mr. D. M'Connochie bo accepted.—Carried. The Clerk read the Schoolm asters monthly return, and reported that Mi-. John Hay had been applied to, to obtain the prizes, also, that notice of assessment had been served on the Schoolmasters House and garden, and that he had applied to have the same exempted. Accounts to the amount of £2 were passed for payment. Proposed by Mr. Hastie, and seconded by Mr. M'Pherson,—That the Clerk be requested to communicate with Mr. Hislop, Secretary Education Board and W. Fraser M.P.C. with a view of obtaining a share of the amount voted for District School Prizes. .£250 Carried. Proposed by Mr. M' Pherson, seconded by Mr. Hastie,—That the Christmas Vacation extend from Nov. 29th to January 6th 1868. After a vote of thanks to the Chair, the meeting adjourned.
