\: The Council held its usual fortnightly meet. I 1 ing on .Monday, the 30th ult. Present: Coun- I f eillors Kidd, Whetter, and Edwards. I \ The chair was occupied by C'r. Kidd. f The minutes of the previous meeting wcro I t read and confirmed. • c Three letters from the Provincial Secretary I c were read, and ordered to be received. 1 A communication from Mr. Goodger, respecting the levels of the footpath in front of his r hotel, was read and received. t The report of the Inspector of Nuisances, was ] read and ordered to he laid on the table. \ Proposed by Cr. Whetter, That the Town t Clerk instruct the Surveyor to prepare plan and I sections of Melinare-street. Seconded by Cr. a Edwards, aud carried. Proposed by Cr. Edwards, That in future the I hour for meeting be 8 o'clock p.m. Seconded « by Cr. Whetter, and carried. ' Proposed by Cr. Whetter, That Mr. Goodger J bo allowed to make a erossing-place to his back f premises, subject to the approval of the Public Works Committee. Seconded by Cr. Edwards, r md carried. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the t proceedings. t
