CLYDE SCHOOL

The Clyde School Committee held a meeting on Monday evening last,' Messrs Haz ett, M Pherson, George, Hastiej Dr. Shaw, M'Connochie, and Christophers, Secretary.—Mr M'Pherson occupied the Chair.—The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The consideration of the sub-commit-tee's report relating to supplying books to the School, was allowed to stand over till the next monthly meetiog. Dr Shaw and Mr M'Connochie reported that in accordance with jfehe Conimit.ee's instructions, they had completed the purchase of a house and hind of Mr Cope That the Bank of New South Wales had made an advance of seventy,pounds for three months on the. guarantee of the members of the Committee. A letter from L. W. Carter asking on behalf of the Free Masons the use of the School House, to hold meetings in, was read^nd-received. V , >. Proposed.by Dr Shaw and seconded by MrM'Connochie, "That the request be granted, subject to conditions, that the nights of meeting do iot interfere with the business of the School."—Carried, Account due to Mr Brown, was .passed for payment. Proposed by Dr Fhaw, seconded by Mr Hazlett,—"That all former resolutions relating to ."• chbol fees be rescinded, and in future, the following charges be made, — Children under seven years of age, o e shilling per week, over seven and under ten, one shilling and sixpence, over ten years, two shillings; in the case of four or more children from one family, no charge be made after the third child.' All fees to be paid in advance. The usual vote to the Chair, concluded the proceedings.
