TOWN COUNCIL,
CLYDE. The usual fortnightly mecetong of the town Council was held* on Tuesday evening lust, the i6th iast, : present, the Mayor, J. I>. Foiv.ua Esq, an<i Councilore i 'ambridge, Cope. M'Connoehie and Hazlett. The Mayor occupied the Chair. The minutes of the lasc meeting were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was approved, and inward received. A unanimdusvbtc was carried that the Jilayor telegraph and also write to His Konor, the Superintendent respecting the expenditure of £3OO upon the road be 1-wcon < lyde and the Nevis, and that a copy of Mr Pick's the late Superintendent's letter of the 17th July last coniai ig a direct promise to expend frach a sum be enclosed. Proposed by Councilor Cambridge,— iiuvt tho Council undertake the repairs of the road on the Danstan Fiat in accord anco with Mis Honor the Supo lies dent's letter of the 2nd inst." ded by Councillor Cone and carried. It was unanimously carried inat the ball Committee's expences, to iho extent of fifty pounds be made good. The stables at the rear cif the Town ! J ail were let to Messrs Hopper and Beck for the sum of eight pounds per annum upon conditions that they be repaired and kept in repair during t-Irsir terra of occunation. The usual vote of thanks to the Chair, concluded the proceedings.
