TOWN COUNCIL.

C ROMWELL. The usual fortnightly meeting of the Council was held at the School Room, on Monday, the 11th inst.—Present, Mayor, Mr W. J. Harry, and Courcillors Kidd arid Whetter. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Two letteis were read from Messrs Fergusson and Mitchell; Dunedin, relative to a design for the Municipal seal—Ordered to be received. Proposed by Councillor Whetter. and seconded by Councillor "fodd—"That the design be adopted, with a slight modification, and instructions 1 e forwarded for the execution of the work."—Carried. The Town Surveyors report was read, and ordered to be considered at "the next meeting of Council. The Council resolved itself into Com nifctee to consider thi accounts presented for payment. Upon the Council resuming business salaries, and labour incurred iu the formation of Melmore Street, to the amount of £44 19snd was ordered to be paid. The usual vote to the (.hair, closed the proceedings.
