DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
A preliminary meeting of the Dunstan Ulstrict Hospital Committee, was he'd in the Couneil Chambers, on Friday evening the Ist iust.
Present— H. W, Robinson, Pr sident; J. P. Fevaud, Vice-President; A. Christophers, Treasurer; VV. J.. Carter, Secretory; and Messrs llastie. Beck, Naylor, l'jnn, Marshall, and Auckland. The minutes of last general meeting were read.
The following were elected the Finance Committee for 12 months :—Messrs Christophers, Marshall, and Beck. The Visiting Committee for 3- montl s, comprise :—Messrs IJastie, Ryan, and Feratid.
Proposed by Mr Christophers and seconded by Mr Marshall—" That Mr Cope's resignation as collector be accepted." Proposed by Mr Ryan and seconded by Mr Feraud—" That a vote of thanks be accorded to Mr Cope for his valuable services rendered as secretary and collector to the institution, and that the secreary write him a le ter informing him of such resolutions—c i rried. Proposed by Mr Hastieand seconded by Mr Marshall—" That Mr W. L. Carter be appointed collector, and to receive a commission at the rate of 10 per cent—carried. The following notice of motion stands in the name of Mr ifastie—" liatas there is no medical practitioner residing at Clyde, the House Surgeon be for the present permitted to attend cares out of the institution, but not beyond a distance of four miles from the Hospital, and that whenever a legally qualified medical man shall reside at Clyde, the rue prohibiting private practice be strictly adhered t<>. With the usual vote to the chair the proceedings terminated.
