DUNSTAN JOCKEY CLUB HANDICAP |Of 100 s ovs. For all horses, to be [ Handicaped by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, the winner of any Handicap of the value of 100 sovereigns, after the declaration of the weights, to cany 5 lbs. extra; two or more such races 7 lbs extra; twomilcs and a-half; nominations with the sum L 3 3s to be made to the Secretary of the Dunstan Jockey Club, on the Ist day of December, 1806, weights to be declared in the ‘Dunedin Daily 1 imes’ on the Bth December, also in the ‘l unstan Times’ of the 7th Dec., acceptances [with L 4 4s to be enclosed to the Secretary of the Dunstan Jockey Club, on or bebefore the night ot General Entry, 26th December, HACK SELLING RACE Of 20 Sovs. For all horses, no weight less than 10 stone, one and a-half mile heats, the winner to be sold for 20 sovereigns, any surplus to go to the Race fund. Of 15 Sovs For all untrained horses, no horses to run that have ever won a prize of 20 sovereigns, no weight under 10 stone, one and a-half mile heats. Post Entry. LI Is. TOWN PLATE Of 100 Sovs. For all horses, distance three miles, weight for age. Entrance, L 7 7s. STEEPLE-CHASE HANDICAP. Of 75 Sovs. For all horses, about four miles, over the Dunstan Steeple Chase course, nominations with L2 25., and acceptance with L 3 3s. to be made with the Secretary of the Dun tan Jockey Club, as in Jockey < lub Hand'cap; weights to be declared and acceptances made as in Dunstan Jockey Club Handicap. LADIES PURSE. Of 30 Sovs. For all horses, welter weights for age; distance two miles, gentlemen riders. Entrance, .£3 3s. CONSOLATION HANDICAP. Of 30 Sovs. Distance one and a-half miles. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entry will be received for any of the above races except on this condition : That all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint. No person shall be allowed to enter of run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a Subscriber, of not less than <£3 3s to the race fund. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Stewards of the Dunstan Jockey Club, at Smitham’s Sydney Hotel, Clyde, Entrance money enclosed with the name, age, and pedigree of the horse, name of owner, and colors of the rider—any jockey riding except in the colors entered, will he fined 2 sovereigns. N.B. Entries to be made before 9 o’clock on the 26th December, at Smitham’s Sydney Hotel, after which time none will be received. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes for expenses. Mares and Geldings allowed 31b.
