DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
The usual monthly meeting of the Dunstan Hospital Committee, was held on Wednesday •evening last at the Hospital. Present, Messrs Stratford, Cambridge, Cope (Secretary), Edwards, Grindley, Hazlett, M'Connochie, Goodwin, Barlow, Jack, and Marshall. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary read a letter from Mr Julius Vogel, Provincial Treasurer, advising the remittance of L 457 13s 4d,grant in aid. The letter •was received. The Secretary reported that he had received from the Alexandra Local Committee a draft for L2OO, which, with Li) paid into the Bank by .Mr J. D. Feraud, on account of the Frenchmen's Claim, gave a total of L 205 ; also, that L 46 2s 6d, had been received from the local committee .at Black's." The Visiting Committee's report was read and received. • The Finance Committee's report was read • showing the expenses for the month L 194 2s Id. All monthly accounts were ordered for payment. • A disputed account of Mr Tyrrell's for repairs to the cooking-apparatus, was ordered to stand .over. The Houte Surgeon's report was read and received. Tenders f( r supplies were accepted as follows: —Milk, J;'ines Cansw, fd per imperial quart. Meat, William Grindley, Mutton and Beef with or withoat bone, fd per lb. Groceries and Medical con-forts. C. Zeile and Co., Tin, best congou..2s Sdperlb ; brown sugar, Cd do ; white do., 7d do. ; hutte\ Wellington, Is 4d do ; rice Patna, 4-' cl do ; oatmeal, 4£d do. ; Adelaide flour- L2 fcs per bag ; starch, 4d per lb. ; coffee, Is 4td do. ; coffee, Duns'an ground. 2s 3d do ; candles, stearine, Is 3d do; salt, 2'dco; pepper, Is do; s. ap, Cd do ; arrow root, Is do. ; mustard Is do ; washing soda, 3d do ; kerosene, (is per gal. ; ale and porter) English bottled, 17s Gd per doz. ; port and sherry wine, 14s per gall; nun, 168 do; whiskey, lGs do.; brandy, pale or dark, 22s do. ; do per case, COs. First tenders were ordered to be called for breadj to be sent in by 8 o'clock, on-Monday evening next. Proposed by Mr Edwards "That a vpte of censure be passed upon the Tre'asnrer fdr nonattendance, and that he be requested to furpish financial statement by Monday next.!' Seconded by Mr '••--;- Proposed by Mr Edwards, and seconded by Mr M'Connochie, -."That the Secretary ask the -CldyeTowri Council Jfor permission to use the Council Chamber on Monday evening next, as .a place of meeting."
