HOSPITAL MEETING.

The visual monthly meeting of the Committee, was held on Wednesday evening last, in the House Surgeon's Room at the Hospital. There were present Messrs Robinson, (President,) Cope, (Secretary,) Goodwin, Cambridge, Grindley, Morice and Stratford. The Proßident occupied the chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary read a letter from the Provincial

Treasurer requesting statement of statistics for last twelve months. Secretary ordered to pre> pare same. Mr Jackin the absence of Mr Marshall, pro« posed : "That all correspondence with the Government since Ist January, 1866, be laid upon the table at the next meeting." Seconded by Mr Cambridge and carried. The House Surgeon's and Finance Com* mittee's reports were read and received. The Finance Committee's report showed expenditure for the month L 125 6s Id. Report accepted. The accounts for September were ordered for payment. The Visiting Committee's report was read and accepted. Proposed by Mr Jack, seconded by Mr Good' win and carried : " That the Visiting Committee procure seed, &c. hecessrry for the garden." It was ruled by the Chair that the House Surgeon could not be allowed private practice, as it was in direct contravention to the 28th Rule, therefore, the motion in Mr Goodwinfs name lapsed. Proposed by Mr Stratford : "That the Secretary write'to Mr Charles Golta of Conroy's Gully, informing him that it having come to the knowledge of the 'Committee, that he was not destitute when admitted into the Hospital That he be requested to pay for maintenance while an inmate of the Hospital, in compliance with Rule 58. It was resolved that the Annual Ball and Bazaar should take place. The Secretary read, a letter from Mr Booth of Cromwell tendering his resignation as member of Committee, ordered to be accepted. Dr Morice, in propria persona tendered his resignation as Honorary Surgeon also as member of Committee on account of his leaving the Province. It was proposed that the thanks of the Com* mittee be tendered to Dr Morice for his very valuable services rendered to the Institution as Honorary Susgeon during the past three years, and that an address, engrossed on parchment, embodying the above, with the signatures of President and Secretary attached, be presented to Dr Morice. Proposed by Mr Grindley : " That the General Committee make all the necessary arrangements for the Bazaar and Ball, and that they be empowered to defray all the expenses attending same." Seconded by Mr Cambridge and carried. It was arranged thas the Bazaar and Ball bo held on the 28th and 29th December next ensuing, and that Messrs Robinson, Grindley and Cambridge do form the working Committee. The usual vote to the Chair terminated the proceedings.
