(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.) FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. Dunedin, Oct. 4th, 3 p.m. Arrival of the Ruahine at Wellington, with English Telegrams to August 20th. The Ruahine broke down on the 21st August, and had to come up with one engine. Via. Atlantic Telegraph Cable. Napoleon demanded extension of French boundary to the Bhine. Prussia refuses. The ratification of Peace is expected in ten days. Napoleon denies any intention to annex Belgium. Italy will negotiate with the Pope for Rome as her capital. The Armistice was extended to the 19th September. America. Tampico has been captured by the liberals. The National convention of Conservatives sustain President Johnson's restoration policy. Cholera is on the decline in New York, but increasing in other towns. The Atlantic Cable is working splendidly. Cable across the Gulf of St. Lawrence has been repaired. Daily communication with England. Wellington. A. narrow majority succeeded in carrying Mr Whitaker's resolution in favor of the next meeting of the Assembly taking place at Christchurch. Strong local feeling on the subject. It is supposed the Government will take advantage of the members leaving, to recind the resolution. Presbyterian Land Bill passed the Upper House. There was a sitting inßanco to argue rule nisi for new trial in Bussell v. Barton. Refused.
