Daily communication with England. Wellington. A. narrow majority succeeded in carrying Mr Whitaker's resolution in favor of the next meeting of the Assembly taking place at Christchurch. Strong local feeling on the subject. It is supposed the Government will take advantage of the members leaving, to recind the resolution. Presbyterian Land Bill passed the Upper House. There was a sitting inßanco to argue rule nisi for new trial in Bussell v. Barton. Refused.
