POET OF NAPIEE
ARRIVAL. December 23_Wairoa, s.s., from Wairoa and Whakaki, with a number of passengers.
The steamer Wairoa, Capt. H. Anderson, returned from Wairoa last evening, bringing a number ef passemrers and some ■wool, which latter she discharged into the chip Wairoa before coming inside. She ■will steam again for the Wairoa at 12 o'clock on 'Xmas night, taking passengers at excursion fares. The Union Company's s.s. Southern Cross left Auckland at 6.30 p.m. last night, and will be due here on Friday, and is now to sail at 11 a.m. that day instead of Saturday as previously advertised. The s.s. Omapere leaves Dunedin for Napier via Oamaru and Timaru on Monday next, 29th inst., and is due on Friday, 2nd January, leaving following day for Gisborne, Tauranga, and Auckland. The Union Company's s.s. Waihora, Capt. Mclntosh, leaves Auckland on Friday, and will be due here on Sunday next. The s.s. Kiwi is expected to leavo Wellington for the coast and Napier on Monday next. . The Union Company's s.s. Wairarapa, Capt. Chatfield, will be leaving Wellington for the North on Friday, and will be due here the following clay. She is advertised to steam for Sydney via Gisborne and Auckland at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The Messrs Shaw Savill and Albion Company's sliip Pleiades, Capt. Setten, will be full by the end of the week, and is expected to sail for London on Monday or Tuesday next.
