The steamer Thomas Russell, Capt. C. Helauder, got away for Gisborne and Auckland again last evening. The Union Company's steamer Southern Cross, Captain Hutchison, which left Auckland for Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington last evening, is due here on Friday morning. She will discharge inside,_ and at 2 p.m. is to steam on her course again. The Sir Donald, Captain J. Quinlan, returned from Blackhead at an early hour this morning with a load of wool. Sho transhipped 115 dumps to the Euterpe the first thing, and afterwards steamed for Tongoio. The steamer Kiwi expected here this morning . from Wellington and the coast, had not turned up, up to the timo we went to press. The N.Z. Shipping Company's ship Wairoa, Captain Holbeche, was brought in from the ballast ground this morning, and has taken her place at the anchorage. Tho s.s. Wairoa is to take her departure for Wairoa, carrying cargo and passengers, at 12 o'clock to-night. Through a misprint wo made it appear that the'Rotomahana, from Melbourne and the south, would not arrive here until Monday morning. It should have read Sunday, she being advertisev to sail at 7 p.m. on that day for the north.
