FIRES.
Auckland, This day. The house of Mrs Sarah Bradley, atPapakura, was burnt down yesterday through a spark from a railway engine setting fire to the scrub adjacent to the line. Some neighbors and platelayers endeavoured to arrest the progress of the fire, but failed. Timaru, This day. A fire broke out about 8 o'clock last evening in the old Presbyterian Church, which was ued as a storehouse. A quantity of old scats were burnt, but a quantity of furniture and other goods was got out before the fire got a good hold. The building was slightly injured. At tho time the fire broke out a groat teaincetiog'was going on in the Oddfellows' Hall next door, but the ladies and children kept their seats.
