FATAL ACCIDENT.
Auckland, This day. At the pleasure trip on Saturday a Mrs Wharton, wife of a fireman on the Triumph, while off Rangitoto went into the forecastle peak, mistaking it for a lavatory, and fell down a ventilating hatchway. She was killed instantaneously. She had no business there. The accident cast a complete gloom ovor the picnic.
