Auckland, This day.
A deputation from the unemployed presented a petition signed by 21 men out of work, asking the Mayor to convene a public meeting, the Mayor declined to do so on his own responsibility in consequence of the paucity of signatures. He said if 100 signatures were obtained he would do so.
