Dr Menzies' testimonial fund closes today. Mr A. B. Burton delivers a Gospel Address at West Clive at 7 o'clock this evening. Those interested in dairy produce aro invited to meet in tho Oddfellows' Hall, Taradale, at 7.30 this evening, when Mr Bowron will lecture on the management of cheese and butter factories. An admittance fee of sixpence will bo charged to defray expenses. A meeting of tho Clive Square Improvement Committee will be held at 8 o'clock this evening at the Garrison Band room, Emerson-street. Acceptances and entries for the Cricket Association sports on Saturday close at tho Empire Hotel at 8 o'clock to-night. The Napier Orchestral Society give a popular concert in the Theatre Royal tonight. A. fancy dress ball will be held in the Town Hall, Hastings, to-night. Tenders for supplying 300 telegraph poles, delivered either at Danovirke or Makatoku railway stations, will be received by Mr Bold. Inspector of Telegraphs, up to noon to-morrow. The first meeting of delegates from the various Friendly Societies in connection with the annual fete will be held at the Foresters' Hall, Dickens-street, to-morrow evening - . Messrs Monteith and Co. sell horses, spring cart., «fco., at tho Horse Bazaar on Saturday. Mr Margoliouth holds his regular weekly sale at tho City Auction Mart on Saturday. Mr John Towers, Makatoka, is prepared to supply timber of all descriptions, fencing posts, house blocks, kc Tho steamship Doric leaves Lyttelton for London next month, aud will take butter, cheese, and honey in a cool chamber if sufficient cargo offers. Smoked Fchnapper and fresh oysters can be had at Mr Prebble's. Mr P. F. Colleclge, jeweller, is making substantial reductions in his prices. The prospectus of tho Wellington Leather Manufacturing Company of New Zealand i.s published, with a capital of £150,000 in £10 shares.
