.*tjml Morses. TO STAND THIS SEASON AT TARADALE. $\ r jpHE Fashionably-bred *£- :; &#Ss&\ -1 smd Very Superior Throu-hbrod Horse PISCATORIOUS. This beautiful and stout-bred horse is a dark broAvn, with black points, stands about 16 hands 2 inches high, his A\-bole contour being very handsome, powerful, and has a neat expressive bead, indicative of a good temper, Avhich he possesses, his neck is long and muscular, Avith Avindpipe avcll detached, his shoulders arc deep and avcll laid back, and good enough for anything. Traducer (sire of Piscatorious), a recollection of Avhose name will ncA r er die Avhile racing exists, for his progeny have proved themselves to be of the very highest class, viz-: Lurline, Calumny, Templeton, Welcome Jack, Le Loup, and Sir Modred (Avinning this year the Sydney Great Metropolitan). Fisherman (sire of the dam Piscatorious), as a game and lasting horse may challenge the best of the "days that are gone.'' Against the best horses in England (and ahvays carrying top weight) in 1850, bo started in thirty-four races, and Avon tAventy-three races ; in 1857, started thirtysix and Avon twenty-three ; in ISSS, started thirty-two and won twenty-one. Sometime after" ISGO he Avas imported to Australia, and put to the stud, and as results have shown proved himself the Emperor of Stallions of the Southern Hemisphere, for his descendants, both at the turf and at the stud, have provod themselves the best horses in Australia. Fisherman is the sire and grandsire of the folloAving Avonders: — Sylvia (dam Martini Henry) Maribyrnong (the most fashionable sire in Australia), Angler (tho best sire in Australia to-day), Onyx (Auckland Stud Company's mare), Lady Heron, The Fly, Robinson Crusoe, Horatio, Goldsborough (this the coming sire of Australia), Hamlet, Cap-a-pie, Richmond, Progress, Cunnamnla, Navigator, Dag-mar, Ferryman, Fishhook, GasAvorks, Segenhoc, Sardonyx, lolanthe, and Bargo (these two last mentioned horses Avere first and second in this ysar's Hawkcsbury Guineas.) Two of the best marcs OAViicd by the Auckland Stud Company are descendants of Fisherman, St. Simon, the best horse tbc Avorld ever saw, runs back to tho old Fisherman strain. Fanny Fisher (dam of Piscatorious) is tho dam. of some of the best, horses that haA'C CA'cr trod on the Ncav Zealand turf. Coquette (imp., dam of Fanny Fisher), Avas first put to the stud in England, Avhero her progeny proved themselves real clippers. She Avas eventually imported to Australia, and became the dam and grand dam of some of Australia's best performers. Launcelot (sire of Coquette) Avas a grandly bred horse, being out of Banter, by Camel —Launcelot. Won the English St. Leger, 1840. Fanny Fisher Avas tho only Fisherman mare ever put to Traducer. This alone should make Piscatorious invaluable as a stud horse, and when tAvo such renoAvned strains are blended together, it requires only a few really firstclass mares to make Piscatorious as famous at the stud as his sire and grand sire. Mr Walters (and avliosc opinion ought to be respected iv reference to horseflesh) always spoke of this horse as the "future sire of Noav Zealand," and if shape and appcaranco go for anything he should be right, for he is tho model of a racehorse, Avithout a particle of lumber; add his blood for every requisite—speed, stoutness, running family on the sides of the sire and dam, such as cannot bo surpassed. The following pedigree (were ho alive) Avould make poor old Mr I'Anson's eyes glisten with delight, for it fairly bristles Avith England's best and purest blood: — o Pantaloon IflaUft ,|c j a"■§ a PaFqninnde, eister Camol | _3 to Touchstone Banter 11 g Kiis,. brother to 3>_ 3 iSpirus (G^ r oforl , llM i o £■ Lnnciild, Mstcr to Cain Languish Lydia . - i-5 Bastard D 1 a.*« Ilcron n - 3°„ Daughter of Oj_ sSxi H\> si H " .? o|--_ Er?'s Sheet Anchor k £> c ~J.£ .Valnbracc a. 3 S "3 c P Dauifhterof 6 f '| * _ _.„ . .
