(Received August 27, 4.30 p.m.) LONDON. August 26. The cricket match, Australians versus Past and Present of Cambridge, Avas resumed to-day at Brighton. There Avas a large attendance of spectators, anel the weather Avas fin», but tho Avicket Avas much cut up. Tho home team's first innings closed for 135, of which Whitfield scored 21 bowled, Ford 34 caught, and Morton 39 not out. The Australians went in a second time, and put together 181. Bannerman caught 44, and Bonnor caught and boAvlcd 36, Avere the highest scorers. The home team, requiring 236 to Avin, went to the Avickets, and Avhen play ceased for the day their score stood at 08 with seven Avickets down. (Received August 28, 0.50 a.m.) August 27General Lord Wolseley, will leave for Egypt almost immediately, and on arrival Avill assume supreme command of the British troops in that country.
