DEATH OF COLONEL LECKIE.
Wellington, This day,
Colonel Leckie died last night from liver complaint. His death was accelerated through' the shock received by a fire breaking Ou.'ou his premises some little time ago. He Avas GO years of age. He Avas a Colonel in the 30th Regiment on full pay, and served through a portion of the Crimean Avar, being present at the storming of Sebastapol, in Avhich he took an active part. He served in Canada and various parts of India, and Avas an intimate friend of Chinese Gordon. lie loaves a Avife and a grown family.
