Parkes, avlio was a through passenger by the mail boat, while in America saw the President of the Pacific Steamship Company and Jay Gould, the American railroad king, and advocated the establishment of a 32 days service betAveen Liverpool and Sydney Ada 'Frisco and Auckland, which service he belieA-ed would bo contributed to by all the Australian colonies except South Australia.
