A special meeting of the Baron Wolseley Lodge of Druids will be held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Hastings, at S o'clock tonight, to meet the District President, Bro. Bishop. Mr Collinge, collector, will attend at the Oddfellows' Hall, Taradale, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to-morrow, to receive rates due to Meanee Road Board. Mr Margoliouth sells a portion of a country storekeeper's stock of drapery, groceries, fancy goods, etc., also potatoes and onions, by auction at the city mart at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Messrs Monteith and Co. sell_ horses, potatoes, onions, carrots, and furniture by auction at the Horse Bazaar at 11.30 a.m. to-morrow. Messrs Banner and Liddle sell tho whole of the bankrupt stock of clothing of the Auckland Clothing Company on the premises, Hastings-street, at noon tomorrow. The result of the poll for the Eastern Maori electoral district will be officially declared at the Council Chamber, Napior, at noon to-morrow. Tenders for the delivery of shingle as required on the Meanee roads, and for reforming 12 chains of Tannery road, will be received by the Meanee Road Board up to noon to-morrow. Tenders for the formation of 30 chains of road will be received by the Tamumu Road Boai'd up to noon to-morrow. Mr Harker's important sale of land at Meanee and Clive will be held at the Theatre Royal, Napier, on Thursday, 3rd October, and the live stock will be sold on the ground on the following day. Mr Beeeroft announces that the American trotting stallion Newland's Hambletonian will stand during the forthcoming , season at Hastings. Messrs R. Hannah and Co. advise tho boot buying public to go straight for the greatest boot emporium in this province, next the Horse Bazaar, Hastings-street. Poison will be laid on Bird's Nest Farm, Meanee, from and after this date. Mr Lascelles, solicitor, has the house in Milton Terrace, now occupied by Mr A. B. Thompson to let. Messrs Hallenstcin Bros, and Co. beg to inform the general public that large reductions are now being made during their present stock-taking. They would specially refer to such garments as Pagets, sacs, trousers, and trousers and vests, which are being sold at very low figures. Inspection invited. Encourage New Zealand industries.
