ANNUAL LICENSING MEETINGS.
Auckland, This day. The Auckland East Licensing Committee refused two licenses yesterday, and a number were postponed for consideration. Upstairs bars are abolished in all public-houses in the district. Gisborne, This day. Allthelicensoeshave received licenses up to 12 O'clock, subject to fire escapes being provided and other improvements. One new application was refused. The Bench considered that there was not enough trade to wan-ant an extra license. Wellington, This day. The'Thornden Licensing Committee to-
day refused all midnight licenses. Eleven o'clock licenses were granted to all except two, which close at 10. -~■' a Ciiristchurch, This day. The South-east Licensing Committee refused an application for a license to a new house in Colombo-street South, and made the following conditions in respect to the Langham Hotel, High-street.—"A new building to be begun within six months and completed within twelve months in accordance with the plans already approved. Dunedin, This day. The Bell Licensing Committee, by a majority, have restricted all licenses to 10 o'clock. ' The Chairman charged the Temperance party with acting revengefully on account of the action of two other committees. The Leith Committee to-day reduced ail licenses to 10 o'clock.
