THE ORIENTIAL BANK'S INDEBTEDNESS.
TRIAL OF MINING MANAGER FOR EMBEZZLEMENT. (Received May G, 8.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE. Tuesday. It has been ascertained that tho Oriental Bank Corporation are indebted to the associated banks of this colony to the amount of £.')0,000, of which £31,000 is covered by securities. (Received May 7, 1.30 a.m.) R. B. Fletcher, late mining manager at Sandhurst, who was committed for trial on March IS on several charges of embezzlement, was acquitted to-day on the first charge. The hearing of the remaining charges is still proceeding.
